Fishing
Home to an extensive stock of carp, crucians, perch, pike, roach, rudd and tench, Rum Bridge in Clare, Suffolk, has grown to become a firm favourite with holiday anglers of all interests, ages and abilities.
The lakes were created with a simple goal: to make fishing fun; affordable, comfortable, peaceful, secure… and accessible to all.
So, whether you are interested in float-fishing for crucians and silvers, feeder-fishing for tench, or bolt-rigging for big carp, you’ll have ample opportunity to get ‘your fix’ in beautiful surroundings; and in the company of family and friends.
The spring-fed ponds were created by and for anglers; designed and stocked to combine the convenience of a ‘commercial’ and the facilities of a holiday-style venue, with the atmosphere and aesthetic of a mature, estate-style fishery.
Fishing is available exclusively to holiday anglers fishing from their own dedicated swims, adjacent to a choice of lakeside pods and bell tents – all situated just a short hop from the car parks, tackle shop and Carol’s Kitchen.

Lakes
The Road Lake
Surrounded by weeping willows and silver birch, and feature-packed with scattered, wooded islands, reed beds and lilies, the Road Lake is stocked with four different strains of mirror and common carp – mostly doubles and twenties and including VS fish in excess of 35lb – together with a good head of tench, ranging from 4lbs-8lbs+. Not to mention silvers, pike, and the many stunning crucians for which the lake originally earned its reputation.
Less than an acre in size, the Road Lake is available to anglers holidaying in one of two comfortable lakeside glamping pods: the sleeps-3 ‘Willows’ pod, and ‘George’s’ sleeps 2 wooden tipi.
Lakes
The Moat Lake
This intimate pond is home to a remarkable stock of big tench (up to 9lbs+), plus crucians (3lbs), carp (commons and mirrors to 35lb+), perch, roach, and bream, lending itself to traditional float, feeder and pole fishing techniques.
As the name implies, The Moat encircles a large, reed-fringed island, allowing anglers to target their own water without risk of overcasting or ‘territory disputes’; and a raft of features – including lilies, reed beds and tree-lined margins.
Day-night tickets for the Moat Lake are available only to guests staying in The Moat Pod, Moat Bell Tent, Lakeside Bell Tent and Baby Bell Tent.
