Please be aware that the tackle store will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, due to strike action.
With Management now, perfectly reasonably, considering opening seven days a week, our employee is demanding “fairer pay” before committing to their new Terms & Conditions.
Of course, this sort of woke, leftie nonsense will not stand in the long term. But until we dispense with this ‘democracy’ malarkey once and for all, we find ourselves forced to return to the negotiating table.
For the record, an initial offer – comprising a one-off tax free lump sum of 7p, coupled with a seven percent below inflation pay rise – was rejected unanimously by the ‘Angling & Recreational Sports Employees’ trade union, following a ballot of the member (which, unusually for this generally workshy membership, saw a 100% turnout).
A revised offer, comprising an immediate eight percent below inflation pay hike, rising to nine percent below inflation next year, is now under consideration.
Meantime, as you would expect from any professional, accountable, (semi-)benign dictatorship, we are taking all necessary steps to minimise the impact of this shameful action – and our summarily restricted trading hours – on you, our valued customers.
