As an experienced business owner (and, if I say so myself, something of a futurologist), I pride myself on quickly identifying and responding to emerging commercial trends.
And, despite the protestations of the many naysayers – Luddites to a man (or woman/other applicable gender) who believe this internet thingy will never really take off, I’m confident it actually represents quite the opportunity for forward-looking enterprises such as ours.
Quick to grasp the technological nettle, I have therefore invested well in excess of a hefty £100 in the development of our own online ‘webshop’ (yes, you read that correctly); allowing customers to – you’ll love this! – order stuff online, for delivery to their homes.
Which means, as the more tech-savvy among you will already have realised: you can now now do your tackle-shopping *anytime, anywhere*. At work. On the bank. Whilst driving.
And, most importantly, whilst p*ssed as a handcart, having rolled out of the pub in the middle of the night.
Then, just a few short weeks later (assuming your Evri driver hasn’t tossed your order in a skip) you’ll receive a whole bunch of stuff you never really needed, for a trip you’ve already taken.
Better still, you’ll have access to *most* of our stock *at normal retail price*.
I know, right?
Makes you wonder about the many… well, frankly, mugs… who still insist on visiting shops, doesn’t it?
I mean, sure: they’ll get to see, touch and feel *all* the stock. Take advantage of the very best prices (which some of those so-called ‘leading brands’ won’t allow us to quote, online). Maybe enjoy a coffee and a butty; and even take advantage of a bit of local knowledge.
But really: some of you may have to walk – by which I mean of course: drive – 500 yards or even more. And frankly, why would you?
When smarter consumers now just type “Rum Bridge Tackle Shop ” into AskJeeves… and they’re shopping.
